Bingo Glossary: Terms, Meanings and Common Differences

This bingo glossary explains the language used in game screens, ticket purchases, prize conditions and promotions. Use the search to find a term or browse the alphabetical groups. Each definition describes general usage; the published conditions for the room, reward or payment decide how the term applies to a particular account.

Numbers & abbreviations

1TG
One to go: one more required number is missing from the target being tracked. It describes the ticket’s current position, not a guarantee that the next call completes it.
2TG
Two to go: two required numbers remain for the tracked condition. Check whether the display refers to a line, shape or full house.
3TG
Three to go: three required numbers remain. A room may sort tickets by this count, but that display is separate from the official prize result.
75-ball bingo
A format using a pool of seventy-five numbered balls. A conventional card is five by five; the winning pattern and treatment of the centre depend on the game.
90-ball bingo
A format using ninety numbered balls. A conventional ticket has three rows and nine columns containing fifteen numbers, commonly used for line and full-house stages.

A–C

Advance buy
Purchasing eligible entries for a later round or schedule. Confirm the game, start time, quantity and cancellation conditions before committing funds.
Auto-buy
A setting that selects or purchases entries according to a schedule or rule. Check the total commitment, how to stop it and whether existing purchases remain valid.
Auto-claim
A feature that records qualifying wins without a separate manual claim, where the game provides it. It is different from automatic marking and should be confirmed in the room rules.
Auto-daub
Automatic marking of ticket numbers that match the calls. Also called auto-dab or auto-marking. It does not by itself establish how a winning claim is submitted.
Ball pool
The complete set of numbers used for a draw, such as 1–75 or 1–90. It is different from the subset printed on one ticket.
Bingo card
The playing grid containing numbers and any special spaces. Card and ticket are often used as related terms, but check what one purchase includes.
Bingo room
The game area or lobby entry for a particular bingo service, schedule or format. A casino account does not automatically provide access to every room.
Blank space
An unused position in a ticket layout. On a conventional 90-ball ticket, blanks are not extra numbers that must be called to complete a row.
Bonus balance
Promotional funds subject to specific conditions. Check whether they can fund bingo tickets, how winnings are treated and whether wagering or cashout restrictions apply.
Buy-in
The price or total entry cost for joining the specified game. Confirm whether the figure covers one ticket, several tickets, a package or multiple rounds.
Call
A number announced or displayed during the draw. Calls can also refer to the count of numbers already drawn, so read the context.
Caller
The person or system presenting drawn numbers. The way calls are displayed is separate from the draw procedure and the game’s official result record.
Card number
An identifier attached to a playing card or ticket. It can help support locate an entry, but it is not the same as a called number.
Chat host
A person moderating a room’s chat or community features. Public chat is not an appropriate place to send passwords, payment credentials or identity documents.
Claim
The process of recording or requesting recognition of a winning condition. It can be automatic or require an action, depending on the game.
Coverall
A target requiring all relevant numbered spaces on a card to be covered. Check the card configuration and any additional jackpot conditions.
Cut-off time
The deadline for an entry or action. A purchase made after one round’s deadline may apply to a later round; check the confirmation.

D–F

Daub
To mark a number on a card after a matching call. An online interface may provide manual marking, automatic marking or both.
Dauber
A marker used to mark paper bingo cards, also spelled dabber. Online versions can use a visual marking tool instead of a physical marker.
Deposit
Money credited to an account through a payment route. Deposit availability, ticket eligibility and withdrawal support are separate checks.
Disconnection
Loss of the live connection or game display. It does not by itself establish that a purchased ticket was cancelled; check the rules and game history.
Eligibility
The conditions that determine whether an account, ticket or transaction qualifies. These can concern the location, game, purchase timing, promotion or prize stage.
Entry
A participation unit recorded for the specified game. Check whether one transaction creates one ticket, a bundle or entries in several rounds.
Face
A term used for an individual playing card in some bingo contexts. Confirm the quantity included where a product is sold as a sheet or bundle.
Fixed pattern
A specified set of spaces that must be completed. It is different from accepting any one of several possible lines or shapes.
Fixed prize
A prize amount defined by the game conditions rather than simply described as a growing jackpot. Check qualification, sharing and cancellation rules.
Free centre
A centre space treated as already covered in a game that uses it. A free centre is not a called number or a separate promotional reward.
Free play
A broad promotional label that can mean ticket credit, bonus funds or another restricted reward. It does not automatically mean winnings are immediately withdrawable.
Free spins
Promotional slot spins or a slot feature triggered during play. Neither meaning is the same as a bingo ticket unless a specific game explicitly awards that reward.
Full house
Completion of all required numbers on one ticket. For a conventional 90-ball ticket this means fifteen numbers; check the actual game and jackpot rules.

G–L

Game history
The account or game record of entries, calls, results and transactions provided by the service. Keep the round reference when asking support to investigate an issue.
Guaranteed prize
A stated prize or pool commitment subject to its conditions. It is not a guarantee that an individual ticket wins or receives the full displayed amount.
House
A shortened call or label for full house in some games. Read it in context; it can also refer more generally to an operator in casino terminology.
Jackpot
A separate top prize or additional reward with defined qualification rules. It may be fixed or progressive and can require more than ordinary pattern completion.
Line
A completed row, column or diagonal only where the game accepts it. A conventional 90-ball line prize concerns a horizontal row on one ticket.
Linked game
A game or prize arrangement connecting eligible rooms under stated rules. Check the actual entry population and pool rather than assuming only visible chat participants compete.
Lobby
The screen used to browse rooms, formats and start times. A lobby listing is not a ticket purchase confirmation.

M–R

Manual marking
Marking matching calls yourself using the provided controls. Check whether marks are a visual aid, part of a required claim process or both.
Maximum cashout
A limit on eligible winnings withdrawn under a promotion. It is different from a payment-method transaction limit or a casino’s general withdrawal limit.
Network
The shared platform or arrangement through which rooms may be provided. Branding and chat-room names do not establish that every game has the same participants or rules.
Numbers remaining
The numbers in the draw pool that have not yet been called. This is different from how many numbers your own ticket still needs.
Odds
A description of likelihood that must specify the event being measured. Next-call matching, pattern completion and winning a room prize are different probability questions.
One line
A prize stage requiring one qualifying line. Check the exact orientation and ticket condition; conventional 90-ball uses a completed horizontal row.
Pattern
The required arrangement of spaces or numbers for a target. A highlighted shape should be read with the rules, including any permitted rotations or alternatives.
Prize pool
The amount allocated to a game or prize stage. Check whether it is shared among qualifying winners and how each share is calculated.
Progressive jackpot
A jackpot that can increase under the game’s funding rules until a qualifying win or other stated event. The display does not establish a likely payout.
Qualifying ticket
An entry that satisfies the relevant game or prize conditions. A ticket valid for an ordinary prize may need additional conditions to qualify for a jackpot.
Random number generator
A system used by software for random selection. The term RNG alone is not evidence of a particular game’s testing, licence or authorisation.
Round
One defined game or draw within a schedule. Check which round an entry joins and whether a purchase includes more than one.
Round ID
The reference identifying a particular game. It is useful when checking a purchase, disconnection, claim or prize credit with official support.

S–W

Session
A period of play or a defined set of scheduled games, depending on context. Check the cost commitment if tickets are sold for an entire session.
Shared prize
A prize divided among eligible winners under the game rules. The headline pool is not necessarily the amount paid separately to every ticket.
Single-ticket probability
The likelihood of a defined event for one ticket under stated assumptions. It does not automatically measure the chance of beating competing entries.
Strip
A group of tickets packaged together in some formats. Confirm the number included and whether the displayed price is per ticket or for the group.
Ticket
The entry containing the numbers used for play. Confirm its round, quantity and cost after purchase rather than relying on the lobby display.
Ticket price
The unit cost defined by the operator. Multiply by the actual quantity and number of rounds selected to understand the total purchase.
Two lines
A stage requiring two qualifying lines on the same ticket under conventional 90-ball rules. One completed row on each of two tickets does not meet that condition.
Uncalled number
A number not yet drawn in the relevant game. An uncalled number may be absent from your ticket and therefore irrelevant to its target.
Verification
The operator’s process for checking account or identity information. Completing a game or promotion does not automatically complete payout checks.
Wagering requirement
A defined total of eligible stakes required under a promotion. Check the calculation base, contribution, maximum bet and whether bingo activity counts at all.
Withdrawable balance
The account’s stated amount available for a payout request, subject to its applicable checks. It can differ from bonus funds or a displayed total balance.

Common bingo terms that need to be kept separate

Auto-daub and auto-claim

One marks matching calls; the other concerns recording a winning condition. Check both features in the room rules instead of assuming automatic marking settles every claim.

Ticket price and total purchase

A unit price is only part of the cost. Quantity, strips and advance rounds determine the amount committed in a purchase.

Free centre and free play

The first is a card configuration. The second is a promotional label that needs its own eligibility, use and withdrawal conditions.

Prize pool and individual payment

A pool can be shared between eligible winners. Check the sharing rules before treating a headline amount as the payment to every winning ticket.

Pattern completion and winning the room

A ticket can satisfy a target by a given call count without being the first qualifying entry. Other tickets, shared results and the game’s stopping conditions affect the prize. A probability for one ticket’s completion therefore does not automatically give its chance of receiving a payout.

The bingo odds calculator makes that distinction explicit. It models defined single-ticket events and states its assumptions. Use the wording around a percentage to understand which event is actually being measured.

Called numbers and traditional nicknames

A game call is the number presented in the draw. A traditional nickname is a way of announcing or referring to that number. The nickname does not change the ticket value or the required winning pattern. Follow the number shown in the official game display if wording is unfamiliar.

How to read a term in its actual context

Look at the sentence and the screen where the term appears. “Calls” may describe announced numbers or a count used for a jackpot condition. “Entry” may describe one ticket or a package of participation rights. The surrounding conditions explain which meaning is intended.

Check whether a limit belongs to the game, the promotion or the payment route. A bonus cashout cap and a withdrawal-method limit can both affect a transaction while referring to different rules. Likewise, permission to use an account balance does not automatically make a ticket purchase eligible for promotional wagering.
